This was really good. Did not have a Navy rum so I used a Demarara overproof rum (Lemon Hart & Son 151). Very nicely balanced and the Demarara rum added a nice flavor. Rum forward and very enjoyable.

Yeah, I guess it's a Daiquiri, but it's not a good one. More of a Grog, I suppose. Lacking sweetness and acidity. Pusser's Gunpowder, Bacardi Carta Blanca, and Cointreau. I wouldn't send one back...

Instead of serving this in a Coupe glass with chilled water, we went with a Rocks Glass and crushed ice. And added mint to the lime garnish. A slow sipping delight.

I have a slight cold at the moment, and this is just what I needed - plenty of strong flavours, all of which punch through individually without overwhelming the drink.

Was not expecting it to be this good! There's a pungent back note of the Old Monk rum (closest thing we have to Navy Rum where I'm at), with the Triple Sec providing a nice orange note, and the lime's sourness coming through as well.

Used overproof Navy rum, it was great. Great Daiquiri if you like the taste of rum.
