I went with the blender and used a teaspoon of Hotel Starlino Cocktail Liqueur but still felt it needed 5ml sugar.
This is quite a cherry overload - and all I can say is Bring It On!

Considering John’s review, I decided to up the lime by 7.5 mL and reduce the Heering by 5 mL. This resulted in what I’d consider to be a beautiful and exquisitely balanced drink!

After doing it a second time, I prefer it made in a blender and strained through a really fine mesh sieve. The slight bitterness of the cherry skins gives it together with the higher fruitiness more depth.

Cherry 3 ways and really works. Can I recommend Barti Du spiced rum in place of the vanilla rum as the complex vanilla tones really sing in this

I liked this drink. I did find it a bit sweet, but not to where it was noticeable. There are some variables in this which could impact the sweetness: The sweetness of the rum and the cherries. Our infused rum was a bit on the sweet side (thankfully I finished it on this drink) and I am in Southern California and we are at peak season. I may try upping the lime a bit or reducing some of the sweet elements, but retain the cherry flavour. Would definitely make again.
