How to make:

SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.

1 1/2 fl oz Rutte Old Simon Genever
1/2 fl oz Oloroso sherry
1/2 fl oz Kirschwasser (cherry) eau-de-vie
1/2 fl oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1/2 fl oz Groseille (redcurrant) syrup

Review:

Bready genever is aromatised with sherry and kirsch while red currant syrup provides the main flavour with its richness balanced by lemon juice.

History:

A riff on the classic Artist's Special, which is based on Irish Whiskey. The only change is to use Dutch genever in place of whisky – hence the name.

Created in January 2016 by yours truly (Simon Difford) at the Cabinet Room, London, England.
