Gillette – Chicago Style

Glass:

Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
2 13 fl oz Hayman's Old Tom Gin
12 fl oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
14 fl oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water, 65.0°Brix)
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of lime wedge.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish:

  1. Express lime zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Adapted from a recipe first published in Tom Bullock's 1917 book The Ideal Bartender.

GILLETTE COCKTAIL – Chicago Style
Use a large Mixing glass; fill with Lump Ice.
Juice ½ Lime.
1½ jiggers Burnette's Old Ton Gin.
½ teaspoon Bar Sugar.
Stir well and strain into Cocktail glass.
