This is a truly fantastic drink , but the comments here are a confusing mess. One mentions Cynar (???) and another claims this is "too sweet", despite the use of a rather extraordinary amount of dry vermouth relative to the Campari and Amaretto. I rather suspect that if one finds this cocktail too sweet, that such a person does not enjoy very many cocktails at all.

Although I am admittedly biased, as I love Campari and Amaretto, I suggest any curious readers to try it for themselves, as this is really a an underrated cocktail, especially given the simplicity.

A very smooth mix of Campari and Amaretto. A nice night cap.

After a year of knowing this nectar, I have to admit - it's the best way to end the day!

I used Carpano Dry vermouth to stay with the Italian theme, and the drink is just fantastic! The Amaretto is balanced nicely with the Campari. A spritz of orange to top it off. Amabile!

I disagree about too sweet (might the other reviewer have used sweet vermouth?)
Amaretto is a bit of a thug (see also Frangelico) overpowering drinks, and initial hit is all Amaretto, but the bitter Cynar came through.
Interesting, enjoyable, but not a Favourite.
"A bit weird" says Mrs Jones.
On first dates, stick to Old Fashioned, Negroni or Tequila Espresso Martini.

Just had this again with Saliza, Punt et Mes, and Campari.
Superb again.
Quite Amaretto-forward, but it becomes rounded out and complex.
A real treat after a weekend away bringing all the family together. Some me-time.
