Adapted from a recipe originally published in George J. Kappeler's 1895 Modern American Drinks. Kappeler's original recipe called for St. Croix rum.

Lincoln Club Cooler.
Take a long thin Coliins-glass, put into it on lump of ice, one pony St. Croix rum, fill up with a cold bottle imported ginger ale. Serve.

Review

Basically 'a rum and ginger ale Highball' but Lincoln Club Cooler has more of a ring to it.

Another tasty blend I hadn't expected, the rum and ginger ale work very well together, I actually forget to add the bitters (Australian in my case) which adds extra spice but could easily be omitted as a variation I think? Sweet and spicy and all too easy to drink!...

Good cocktail. Perfect for a sunny day. The flavour of the cocktail will greatly depend on the rum being used.
