Prepare

Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.

Prepare garnish of lime zest twist.

Method

SHAKE all ingredients with ice.

FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

Express lime zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

I'm confused. DeGroff's Cosmo has 2 parts vodka to 1 part Cointreau, but this has that ratio reversed! I experimented with 1/4 oz lime and 1/2 oz each of Clement Canne Bleue, J.M Shrubb orange, and Ocean Spray (not Eager) "100% Juice": cranberry sweetened with apple/pear/grape juice; no corn syrup. Still pretty sweet. Another half ounce of Canne Bleue brought out the agricole flavors, and we're now enjoying 1.5 oz Canne Bleue, 3/4 oz each J.M Shrubb & Ocean Spray, and 1/2 oz lime.

Great cocktail. The taste highly depends on the ingredients, as for most cocktails. It’ even more so for the Creole Cosmo as the shrubb might be quite different from one place/producer to another. In my first version of this cocktail, I used the Clement Canne Bleue Edition 2017 and the Karukera (Longueteau) shrubb orange liqueur. The result was too sour, nearly acidic to my taste. In my second version, I added 2.5 ml sugar cane sirup. The result was far much better.

This is outstanding. Perfect balance of everything. The Agricole taste softens the sweetness of the Creole Shrub and Cranberry Juice. Will definitely have again.

Dry Curaçao is a perfectly fine substitute for the shrubb here. I know shrubb can be quite hard to find in many areas.

Agree. You might know https://www.whisky.fr/catalogsearch/result/?q=schrub. Not a large choice but good products at reasonable prices. They deliver throughout Europe I think.
