Prepare

Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
Prepare garnish of lime zest twist.

Method

STIR all ingredients with ice.
STRAIN into chilled glass.

I find I don't like the amplification of bitterness when lime is paired with highly bitter liqueurs (like Cynar) so I replaced the lime twist garnish with orange, which I think works well. Used OFTD for the overproof component. Very nice, and not likely to be mistaken for a Manhattan.

I‘n having this cocktail as a nightcap. The Cynar and the two rums give it a smoky depth, and the vermouth adds a touch of sweetness. Absolutely love it.
