Ingredients:
1 oz Birch spirit/birch eau-de-vie
23 oz Gentian liqueur (e.g. Suze, Salers etc)
23 oz Italicus liqueur
13 oz Strucchi Red Bitter (Campari-style liqueur)
× 1 1 serving
Read about cocktail measures and measuring

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of fresh bay leaf.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

I used the Highland Boundary larch and honeysuckle spirit, as I didn't happen to have their birch one. It's magnificent - probably a different cocktail with the slight conifer tang of the larch, but it really does work with this recipe.

Made this with Birch/Elderberry eau-de-vie. No idea how this compares to commercial Birch spirits, none of which I can find locally. Just acquired the Italicus Bergamotto and love it. Great combination.
