Too sweet for me as written. Doubled the lime juice and it was delicious.

Tried this with a lovely Casamigos blanco, only tweak was increasing the lime juice by about 5ml. Thoroughly enjoyed it, can see why others have flagged the sweetness, but thought for a slightly longer and sweeter marg, this does very nicely indeed.

I don’t like grenadine so I use Agave syrup. Delight result.

Like others, a little too sweet for my taste. Might try increasing the tequila to 2 oz as it was understated or decreasing the pineapple juice a tad. Overall, a nice variant the traditional margarita.

Similar to other comments, a little too sweet for our liking however it’s nice to try something different. A little more lime, a little less grenadine is probably the way to go.

Margarita flavor profile but not quite as tart as a regular one. Nice variation!

Tried this drink two times. One with Sierra (a horrible Mixto) and then with a wonderful, additive free Tequila called Cascahuin Blanco. The latter produced a wonderful, fruity and pretty sweet drink, though I do have a wet palate, so that meant it was wonderful for me.

Very nice margarita variant. I didn't find Difford's given proportions to be too sweet, not my usual conclusion. Maybe this lime was extra-tart. Besides the Pineapple Margarita, the triple sec also makes it a close relative of the Mile High Margarita. Lovely color (I used Pomegranate Liqueur rather than grenadine).

My boyfriend loves margaritas so I'm always on the lookout for new variations. I made the recipe as written but used pomegranate molasses for the grenadine. It's beautifully balanced that way, drinkable but refined. Definitely adding this to the repertoire.

Favourite Tequila cocktail so far. Used homemade grenadine and slightly increased (~5/8 oz) lime. Thanks for such a great resource.

Based on reader comments I used a tiny bit more lime juice and a tiny bit less Grenadine (Rose’s). This drink was a big hit. Easy drinking and just boozy enough.

A nice drink. Maybe there's a little too much grenadine, it seemed to overcome other ingredients.

Nice margarita variation. Did add a slight amount more lime juice (1/8 oz) and it made it still a little sweet, but enjoyable.
