Tried this with a lovely Casamigos blanco, only tweak was increasing the lime juice by about 5ml. Thoroughly enjoyed it, can see why others have flagged the sweetness, but thought for a slightly longer and sweeter marg, this does very nicely indeed.
Like others, a little too sweet for my taste. Might try increasing the tequila to 2 oz as it was understated or decreasing the pineapple juice a tad. Overall, a nice variant the traditional margarita.
Similar to other comments, a little too sweet for our liking however it’s nice to try something different. A little more lime, a little less grenadine is probably the way to go.
Tried this drink two times. One with Sierra (a horrible Mixto) and then with a wonderful, additive free Tequila called Cascahuin Blanco. The latter produced a wonderful, fruity and pretty sweet drink, though I do have a wet palate, so that meant it was wonderful for me.
Very nice margarita variant. I didn't find Difford's given proportions to be too sweet, not my usual conclusion. Maybe this lime was extra-tart. Besides the Pineapple Margarita, the triple sec also makes it a close relative of the Mile High Margarita. Lovely color (I used Pomegranate Liqueur rather than grenadine).
