Tasty, but definitely could be sharper
Nicer than I thought it would be. Dangerously close to the wash line though, carrying this up the stairs to bed was fraught with danger
Like a Rusty Nail but a million times better
I think this is the most pleasantly surprised I have ever been in my life! Heaven in a glass.
Ugly, but tasty. Powerful too.
Dear god that is delicious! Any chance of a recipe that delivers a higher wash line? This isn’t enough, but doubling the quantities is too much.
Having a mild case of Covid, and this is just what I needed! I made mine with rich Demerara syrup. I think dash of angustura bitters might be nice also.
I can confirm the Ango is a great addition! Extra spice, which is all things nice ?
Beautifully balanced cocktail; you taste the sweet & the sour quite separately in the same sip. Very good.
My god that’s good.
Delicious! Next time I shall swap out the sugar syrup for orgeat.
Nice drink! Although, given its gin-heavy vibes, it should probably be named for her mother ?
Nice, but too sweet. Shall try again with less syrup.
Nice, but too sweet. More lime required.
Dear god that’s good! Used Don Papa rum for extra spice. Oh - no way does this fit in an old fashioned glass; I used a hurricane glass.
Leon & Sander, may I ask how many drops of the orange bitters each of you employed? And, Calvin, what an interesting substitution!
Two, my standard “seasoning” ?
That is an immense drink. I was sceptical about the dry vermouth, but it absolutely makes this drink.
Delicious. I took the gin to 60ml, for a slightly stronger drink.
Delicious. I didn’t have an orange to hand, so I used a dash of orange bitters instead. Especially nice with gooseberry gin.
Tasty, but dear god it’s strong!
Very nice drink. I was looking for a good use of Frangelico. But, I think next time I might add a few dashes of orange bitters to up the bitterness and add a bit more complexity.
I made this, tried it, liked it, read your comment, added the butters, tried it again & absolutely loved it. The orange bitters somehow dialled down the bitterness of the Campari, which works for me.
One of my favourites. I tend to bust out the rarely-used 25ml jigger for this, along with a very generous bar spoon of Benedictine. And I garnish with a lemon twist wrapped around a maraschino cherry. Great drink.
So good. Rich & sweet, but not too sweet.
Lovely cocktail. I didn’t have any Madeira, so I used Antica Carpano. It was delicious.
I don’t feel this needs the sugar syrup at all with Kahluha. Tasty drink.
