The amaretto and honey are up front, though not without balance to the spirits. I’d be tempted to tweak as per some of the others’ suggestions. Very rich, though wonderfully balanced by the lemon twist.
Lovely late night digestif. Personally I found the Amaretto just a little overpowering, so I ended up increasing every other ingredient 33% and I enjoyed it more. Final spec was 6cl cognac, 1.5cl Amaretto, 1cl Islay, short .75cl honey, 2 dashes Angostura, 3 drops saline
Homely Smoke !!! That was a great new cocktails which will be part of our recurring list. I will however cut down on the Ardbeg by a couple of mils. Cheers
Was a bit concerned about this one, as I am not a fan of smokey, but it is wonderful. The strong flavour of almond is enhanced by the honey syrup. The smoke is in the background, but adds an interesting touch.
Delicious! I apologize, I generally don’t like Islay Scotch Whisky (or any Scotch). I imagine its comparable to how some people are genetically wired to taste metal when they eat cilantro. To me scotch tastes like how a box of bandaids smells. That said - as someone who doesn’t care for Scotch - when added in this cocktail it really brings the whole recipe home. The smoky notes of the Islay brings all the flavors together in an extraordinary way. So delicious! I will be making this again.
