After reading the comments went for punt e mes. Lovely. Slight sweetness but balanced by the herbal notes and the richness of the whisky.
Like a dog this negroni variation is not just for Christmas!
Complex and delicious.
Excellent! Love the bitter edge.
This was beautifully balanced but a bit on the wee side. Will make it a double next time.
Great cocktail. Honestly, it has something to please every palette: a gentle sweet smokiness, cut through with citrus and lingering spicy, herbal notes. Delicious and multi faceted.
Oooh! Delicious. Salty rim and zingy lemon married to a peaty whisky and the gentleness of triple sec. Refreshing and sparky.
Glorious! Lovely richness with distinct herbal notes.
Light, complex, refreshing and delicious!
Lovely sipper with herbal notes and a deliciously bitter finish.
Still aethetically celebratory but I feel improved by the rich roundness provided by the cognac. Lovely!
A simple cocktail, yet deceptively full of flavour and interest. Will definitely make again.
Smoked cherry goodness. What’s not to like? More Phil ward magic. I’d be tempted to try with Cocchi vermouth amaro subbed for the punt e mes next time.
I also opted for cocchi. Sublime and with a really varied flavour profile.
Lovely and evolving flavour profile. Spicy, bitter and smoky, using both highland and Islay single malts.
Nothing meh about this! Sublimely smoky, balanced sweetness. Lovely sipper.
