I made the 1929 equal parts Kümmel Ye Faithful drink. It's a simple straight swig of creamy cumin. It needs something additional for depth. A touch of orange? Gonna play with it again sometime.

Used Mr. Black and let the espresso cool before the shake. Outstanding. A keeper.
Refreshing is the word for it. Grassy, sunny, honey. A nice alternative to a Caipirinha.
Very nice, creamy dessert cocktail. The vanilla of the Licor 43 and the herbal notes of the Yellow Chartreuse are well balanced, and the grated nutmeg is a nice kick-off for the olfactory senses.
Like another reader, I substituted Averna for the Lucano. This is a caramel-colored drink, definitely not apricot-hued as in the image. Really liked it, will likely swap the orgeat and lemon proportions next time I try it. Nutmeg is a brilliant garnish here.
Gloriously layered sipper. The mist of Laphroaig is transformative.
My go-to aperitif liqueur is Licor 43 AND I really only like martini-adjacent cocktails that have a bit of liqueur (e.g., Apricot; Alaska). So - unsurprisingly, this is a new hit. Thought I overdid the Peychauds given the color, but nah - delightful and quaffable. The martini-loving husband agrees.
I've made with both Montenegro and Nonino, and both work. Given the $ of Nonino, would probably opt for Montenegro or similar amaro substitute going forward. I like making tall versions of equal parts cocktails, with 1 oz each ingredient vs. 3/4. Held back 1/8th oz on the lemon as I find citrus can be overdone in cocktails. Glorious, multilayered.
Simply lovely over a big rock. Floral, smokey, simultaneously uplifting and moody. If I had a good, long story to share, I'd serve it up with this one.
We love savory, vegetal cocktails, but this is missing something.
