Fantastic! Balance and synergy in pure forms... I felt coconut notes! :-).. Used this Chartreuse brazilian clone, Abadia, and Jerez brandy instead of Cognac...

Great! Exchanged the Grenadine for Cranberry. Is it allowed? :-) Really nice balance with a citric twist.
Great! Instead of an Old Tom, I used Plymouth... I like it sweet, but maybe less Maraschino, and use BEG gin would also work well...
I have been using 1/6 shot of a local herbal Absinthe instead of DOM and Peychaud and it was really balanced and complex. But, now I have added Peychaud and it feels lost/mixed in and too much anised...
Tried with Nolly Prat and Cynar instead of Rama, 2 dashes of orange bitters... Great!
This has become my favourite drink over the last six months or so. I personally omit the simple syrup, as the punt e mes and curacao are plenty sweet already. The grassy freshness of the cachaca and the bitter notes compliment each other so well, I urge anyone to try this drink!
You are right twice: Great drink and no sugar makes it even better
I am probably in love with Elderflower liqueur, but this is a great cocktail, Simon!
Probably the best variation of dry martini I've tried, with the eldelflower "cutting" the dryness instead of the olive. Although martinis depend a lot on the vermouth, I should mention the San Basile (a brazilian destilery) elderflower liquor tastes great here.
Just trying and liking it very much! Take it easy with the lemon, and you can feel layers of all ingredients. A bit less syrup also appears to help...
After reading an article on Perfect Manhattans possibilities on the Wine Enthusiast site, I tried this variation that I think is really terrific. I really liked the way the lemon + briny flavors worked with the rye and vermouths.
2 oz Rittenhouse Bonded Rye
1/2 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth
1/2 oz Carpano Antica Vermouth
2 dashes Angostura
Expressed lemon twist
Cocktail Onion (or green olive)
Sounds interesting. I am trying now Rittenhouse + Dolin Rouge + Cinzano Dry and I am missing the sweetness I am used to... Maybe the Dolin Dry + an italian rosso would make it better!
Exceptionalfor Manhattan lovers! A good vermouth and the orange peel oil are essential :-)
Tried this with Redemption High Rye Bourbon and instead of the Orange bitter, used a twisted orange peel. Very nice!
I use coconut milk foam to decorate, and call it Santa Klaus... good tip for Xmas drinks! :-)
This is great! Changed to 1.5 shot of Gin plus 0.5 shot of dry vermouth...
