Ingredients:
12 oz Spanish brandy
12 oz Orange Curaçao liqueur
3 oz Rioja (Crianza) red wine
1 oz Orange juice (freshly squeezed)
13 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
0.08 oz Monin Cinnamon Syrup
34 oz Thomas Henry Soda Water

Garnish: Slices of strawberry, orange and lemon with mint sprig bouquet

How to make:

STIR first 6 ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass. TOP with soda.

History:

This version of Spanish Sangria was popular in 19th-century America. The only real difference is that while Sangria is usually made in batches, Sangria is single-serve.

Doing a bit of basic research on the sangria/sangaree, the Wikipedia entry emphasises the Spanish origins of sangria, but identifies a separate development in the Caribbean of Sangaree single serve, which migrated to the US in the early colonial period.

This was great. We did have a little champagne left over from earlier so we used that instead of the club soda. I think there is a mistake - it asks for sugar syrup and cinnamon syrup. No metion of soda.
