Over the Seven Days of London Cocktail Week 2017, from Seven Cities, Seven Award-Winning Bartenders from The World’s 50 Best Bars presented their signature drinks at The Patrón Cocktail Lab at the Cocktail Village in London’s Spitalfields Market.

This daily changing lineup allowed visitors to travel to seven of the hottest cocktail cities in the world with a daily changing menu inspired by each city.

Each bartender showcased a specially-created Patrón Tequila cocktail, representative of local trends and ingredients from their home city. Alongside each of the bartenders’ bespoke creations, the Patrón Cocktail Lab offered two classic Mexican cocktails: the Paloma (Patrón Reposado Tequila with grapefruit soda and fresh lime juice) and the Perfect Patrón Margarita (Patrón Reposado, Patrón Citrónge Orange liqueur and lime).

Monday 2nd October 5pm-10pm

Bartender: Nikos Bakoulis
From: The Clumsies, Athens, Greece
Cocktail Description: This spicy and smoky cocktail with a twist of vegetal Greek sweet is the perfect Patrón way to kick off happy hour.
Inspiration: A spontaneous dialogue which occurs when you have something in common. Two ingredients similar to each other which have a lot to share. This drink is the first cocktail from our cocktail menu called "Genesis". The whole idea of the menu is to use ingredients from our country, Greece, to create the main flavour profile in each cocktail. Echo is a refreshing cocktail with spicy notes. The freshness comes from the cordial that is made from cucumber, zucchini and chives.

Cocktail: Patrón Echo
Glass: Coupe
40 ml Patrón Silver
10 ml Mezcal (Nuestra Soledad)
30 ml Greek syrup*
25 ml Lemon/lime juice
2 drops Green Tabasco
*Greek syrup:
Add 250 g of cucumber, 150 g of zucchini, 20 g chive and 15 g of lemongrass to a blender. Blend on a high speed for 2 minutes. Strain and add 250g of sugar to complete the syrup.
Garnish: Dried chili thread
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.

Tuesday 3rd October noon-10pm

Bartender: José Luis León
From: Licoreria Limantour, Mexico City, Mexico
Cocktail Description: Sparkling with a refreshing touch of berry sweetness, this easy to sip cocktail is a great way to keep summer on your mind year round.
Inspiration: The inspiration behind is about the fake Summer that we have in Mexico. Normally people have on their mind sunny days with a margarita in their hands, but that´s just in Europe, in Mexico is all rain and rains and rain. So I wanna put in a glass that feeling of the summer on the beach and give it to the people for their sad days.

Cocktail: It's Summer
Glass: Coupe
30 ml Patrón Silver
40 ml Prosecco
25 ml St Germain
25 ml Lemon juice
10 ml Agave syrup
2 Raspberries
2 Blackberries
Garnish: Mint sprig
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass.

Wednesday 4th October noon-10pm

Bartender: Shingo Gokan
From: Speak Low, Shanghai
Cocktail Description: Exotically flavoured with touches of acidity, aromatic Thai ingredients, and an herbal tequila, this cocktail broadens horizons and taste buds all in one glass.
Inspiration: Concept of this cocktail is "Margarita meets Asian Night Market".

Cocktail: Tom Yum
Glass: Rocks
45 ml Coriander and kaffir-lime infused Patrón Silver*
30 ml Milk
15 ml Lime juice
10 ml Agave syrup
5 ml Galangal juice
5 ml Lemongrass juice
1 spoon White wine vinegar
½ fresh Passion fruit
1 dash Chili tincture*
* Coriander and kaffir-lime infused Patrón Silver
Add a bunch of coriander to a bottle of Patrón Silver tequila and allow to soak for 2-3 hours. Strain the coriander out then add 8-10 peels of Kaffir lime leaves. Allow to soak for another 2-3 hours. Strain the lime leaves out and bottle.
*Chili tincture:
Add 8 – 10 chilies to a bottle of Patrón Silver tequila. Allow to infuse for 3-4 days. Strain and bottle.
Garnish: Rim glass with shrimp salt (add 150g shrimp powder to 250g salt) and garnish with shredded pepper & micro cilantro
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain with a coffee filter into a shrimp salt-rimmed rock glass with a large ice cube.

Thursday 5th October noon-10pm

Bartender: Alex Lawrence and James Wheeler
From: Dandelyan, London
Cocktail Description: Vegetal and light & refreshing, this wine-like cocktail is an easily sippable way to cool off after a long day.
Inspiration: The inspiration for the agave sherry comes from the traditional values that Patrón still holds today. Still using a classic tahona wheel to crush agave before fermentation is truly an homage to the art of making tequila. The profile of the drink is to remind us all of the raw vegetal flavours that are produced in this stage of production. The serve itself is not unlike sipping wine, hinting to the decadent elegance that tequila is, whilst retaining the powerful base flavours from the origin of the refined spirit.

Cocktail Description: Enjoy this savoury and aromatic modern cocktail with a side of heightened happy hour conversation.

Cocktail: Curry Leaves
Glass: Coupe
40ml Coconut fat-washed Patrón Reposado tequila
20ml Pandan Cynar
20ml Antica Formula
2 dashes Curry leaf bitters
Garnish: Orange zest twist
Method: Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass.

Saturday 7th October noon-10pm

Bartender: Chris Hysted-Adams
From: Black Pearl, Melbourne
Cocktail Description: Go bold and spirit-forward with this Patrón-infused cocktail that brings exciting flavors together for a drink that packs a punch.
Inspiration: The inspiration for this cocktail was the fact that every time I suggested a tequila cocktail to a customer they’d shoot it down. The same thing would happen when I suggested similar cocktails with Jägermeister or Chartreuse. So after some time, I decided I was going to put all of these ingredients into the one cocktail (not write the ingredient on our cocktail list) and see what happened. What happened? People wold order the cocktail, and afterwards we would tell them the ingredients. This would the open their eyes to other tequila cocktails, or those with herbal liqueurs as well (but mainly tequila!).

Cocktail: The Death Flip
Glass: Coupe
30 ml Patrón Silver
15 ml Jägermeister
15 ml Yellow Chartreuse
5 ml Vanilla syrup
1 Egg
Garnish: Grated nutmeg
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain back into shaker. Dry shake (without ice) and fine strain into chilled glass.

Sunday 8th October noon-10pm

Bartender: Renato Giovannoni
From: Floreria Atlantico, Buenos Aires
Cocktail Description: Refresh yourself by cooling off with this Argentina-inspired cocktail full off light, fruity flavors and a dash of tequila kick.
Inspiration: Clericots are probably the most popular drinks form the beginning of the 19th century. They are from the Cups Family and they were consumed in every big and aristocracy party. Then they were forgotten until the 1980s where they were destroyed due to the use of really low quality products. Now they are back. And this one specially represents the Retiro neighbourhood from where all the immigrants use to arrive to Argentina in the early years of 1900 and where Floreria Atlantico is located.

37.5 ml Patrón Silver
12.5 ml Vermouth Bianco
12.5 ml Mandarin juice
2 slices Cucumber
1 dash Eucalyptus syrup
1 dash Tonic water
Garnish: Mandarin wedge, cucumber slice & eucalyptus leaves
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass.
