Artisan crafted

A Mediterranean styled amaro flavoured with extractions from 15 alpine and Mediterranean herbs, most notably Gentian, hand-peeled fresh bitter orange peel and Santónico (Artemisia coerulescens), a variety of marine wormwood that only grows only in the lagoon on the Adriatic sea.

This amaro benefits from maturation in ash wood barrels and is diluted to bottling strength with alpine spring water drawn from Bepi Tosolin's own 250 meter well.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 03/06/2021

Appearance:

Clear, deep bronze amber with burgundy glints.

Aroma:

Gentian, cola, cloves, orange zest, liquorice, cinnamon, pine and stewed prunes.

Taste:

Full-bodied and bittersweet with gentian bitterness, tart zesty citrus and drying spice balanced by honeyed sweetness and underlying stewed fruit.

Aftertaste:

Long spicy, bittersweet finish with zesty orange.

Overall:

Full-bodied and just on the bitter side of bittersweet with warming spice and freshening zesty citrus.
