1 2⁄3 oz | Ketel One Vodka |
2⁄3 oz | Peach schnapps liqueur |
1 1⁄2 oz | Orange juice (freshly squeezed) |
1 1⁄3 oz | Cranberry juice (sweetened) |
Fruity and edging towards the sweet side, tastes better than the name might suggest.
Cranberry juice was in its ascendency in the mid-late 1980s when both the Fuzzy Navel (peach schnapps and orange juice) and the Hairy Navel (peach schnapps, orange juice and vodka) where among the most popular 1980s cocktails, so, not surprising, somebody added cranberry juice (and/or cranberry schnapps) to each of these cocktails, so 'piercing' them. Hence, you can have both a Pierced Fuzzy Navel (without vodka) and a Pierced Hairy Navel with vodka. Why settle for mere fuzzy when you can have full-on hairy?
