Ingredients:
1 oz Straight rye whiskey (100 proof /50% alc./vol.)
1 oz Calvados / apple brandy / straight applejack
12 oz Amaro (e.g. Averna)
14 oz St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram liqueur
2 dash Dale DeGroff's Pimento bitters
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of star anise.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish:

  1. Garnish with star anise floated on surface.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created in 2011 by Chris Hannah at Arnaud's French 75 Bar in New Orleans, Louisiana. Named in homage to Frank Sinatra's The Christmas Waltz, recorded by Sinatra in 1954 as the B-side to White Christmas.
