History

Adapted from a recipe created in 2011 by Chris Hannah at Arnaud's French 75 Bar in New Orleans, Louisiana. Named in homage to Frank Sinatra's The Christmas Waltz, recorded by Sinatra in 1954 as the B-side to White Christmas.

Review

Spirit-forward with baking spice bittersweetness. As the name suggests, a great winter nightcap.

I like it. I didn’t have Averna so I used d’ell et an instead.. I might try swapping the ratio off allspice dram to amaro to have a slightly sweeter more winter spice forward cocktail.

Nicely sharp. De Groff's bitters can't be purchased where we are so we went with Bokers. For us, this one benefits from a generous cut of Stilton or Roquefort on the side.
