Ingredients:
1 13 oz Patrón Silver blanco tequila
23 oz Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal
12 oz Agave syrup
56 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
4 drop Difford's Margarita Bitters
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange juice and smoked salt rim with a rosemary sprig in glass.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created by Stelios Papadopoulos at his Barro Negro bar in Athens, Greece, who told us "it's a twist on our beloved Tommy's Margarita that I came up with back in 2011." Stelios' original recipe is 40ml blanco tequila, 10ml mezcal (Espadin), 15ml organic agave syrup, and 30ml lime juice.

Enjoyed very much. Did find it a bit sweet, but that is the case for most margaritas for me. The light hint of smokiness was great.

Quite enjoyed this, especially with added dimension from the Difford's Margarita Bitters.
