Ingredients:
1 13 oz Caribbean blended rum aged 6-10 years
12 oz Ron Colón Salvadoreño Red Banana Oleo
13 oz Chairman's Reserve Spiced Rum

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherry and dehydrated orange slice wheel.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).
  5. Garnish with skewered cherry and orange wheel.

History:

Adapted from a cocktail made for me by the talented Sandro on 20th February 2022 at the Library Bar at London's Landsborough Hotel. This sits under the "Robust Cocktails" heading on their menu, where it is described as a "Selection of rums married for their unique and engaging flavours, Venezuela Santa Teresa 1796 for the body, Kraken black spiced rum for profound complexity and Discarded banana Peel Rum for the exotism."

This sounds delicious - I wonder has anyone tried this with a quality banana liqueur, such as Giffard’s? Having close to 200 different rums in my collection, I am wary of adding flavored rums on top of all the fruit based liqueurs I already own.
