Ingredients:
1 oz Hayman's London Dry Gin
1 oz Marsala semisecco (medium)
1 oz Strucchi Red Bitter (Campari-style liqueur)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. POUR all ingredients into ice-filled glass.
  4. Briefly STIR.
  5. Add an additional ice cube or two after stirring.
  6. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

AKA: The Lost Sailor

History:

Chef Sandra Lotto, owner of Toscana Saporita Cooking School in Tuscany, Italy, created her version of this cocktail, "The Lost Sailor," with 45ml sweet marsala, 45ml Campari, and 45ml dry gin.

Alcohol content:

  • 1.4 standard drinks
  • 22.36% alc./vol. (22.36° proof)
  • 20.1 grams of pure alcohol

I added one dash of strong chocolate bitters and it's even better. Lovely.
