Review

Short for "Branca, Rye & Iron": this is a rustic shot turned digestivo. End your night with a Bryan; you won't regret it! (This recipe only works with a minty fernet, so if using another fernet, try adding a barspoon of crème de menthe).

This is a great nightcap. It really needs a good, bold rye to hold up to the other intense flavors, and when it does... wow. Also seems to improve when a little dilution begins cutting the richness and the interplay of these unusual flavors emerges.

This honestly surprised me. The Brancamenta *should* dominate everything yet it kind of doesn't. The mint is obviously up front and center but then it quickly mellows out into the warmth of rye and Baliva with quite little of the Fernet bitterness. Really a delicious cocktail albeit strange.
