History:

Greek Bacardí Legacy 2014 winning cocktail created by Stelios Papadopoulos at 'Amigos' Mexican Bar-Restaurant in Athens, Greece.

My first thought when asked to create a Legacy cocktail was to look for extraordinary ingredients and do something difficult and complex. Then I realized that all the great cocktails that have inspired me were all about simplicity and balance. It became clear to me that 'simple' was the challenge!

I decided to choose one fruit, one herb, one nut and create a relationship good enough to be 'engaged' with a legacy rum and stand the test of time.

Alcohol content:

  • 1 standard drinks
  • 10.66% alc./vol. (10.66° proof)

The basil is lost here, overpowered by lime and rum

We love the strong contrast between much lime and much syrup.
