Review:

Tart and fruity – perhaps apt! Bittersweet notes of gentian combine well with fruity pineapple with fino sherry adding complex dryness and blue curaçao bolstering the fruitiness while also turning this cocktail turquoise blue.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created by Jim Whitmore at Bar: Toto, Newcastle, England, who says of this drink, “After many requests for Pornstar Martinis we caved in and created the Dirk Diggler (Boogie Nights). Later on it seemed logical to complement the Diggler with a Rollergirl (fun but with hidden depths). For fun we used blue rather than clear orange curaçao.”

An unforgettable, alien swill. The balance is strangely superb.
