Review:

Even with the fruity dilution of the orange juice I've added to this recipe, it remains punchy with even half the original amount of Fernet dominant. (Fernet fanciers should use 15ml (½oz).

Original (without orange juice) was one I found in Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars: 1903-1933:

Question: is the name of the drink "Alcazer" or "Alcázar", referring to a Spanish-Moorish castle? The spicey-orange flavors remind me of a castle in Valencia, where the magnificent oranges grow.
Quick review: excellent cocktail. There's a fire (the Fernet botanicals) hidden underneath the orange, and it makes for a fascinating drink. Buenísimo.
