Serve in a Nick & Nora glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Blended Scotch whisky
12 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
13 oz Monin Grenadine Syrup
2 drop Saline solution 4:1 (20g sea salt to 80g water)
× 1 1 serving
Read about cocktail measures and measuring

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Nick & Nora glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

The Crow cocktails first appears in Judge Jr.'s 1927 Here's How! Revised Edition and is repeated in Harry Craddock's influential 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book.

The Crow
This drink is guaranteed to make you fly; like the crow, if you fly too far you will get shot!
⅔ Scotch;
⅓ lemon juice;
A dash of grenadine.

Pleasant, but basic. Exactly what you would expect from the three ingredients. Not an example of "greater than the sum of its parts" . Needs top quality ingredients. I used Glen Grant 10, and home made grenadine.

In lieu o pomegranate syrup or grenadine what are the thoughts on pomegranate molasses. I have used this in many recipes for my Kitchen … but reading up on things to do with scotch (my liquor or preference) i saw this and thought man molasses has some notes and tones that could really make this cocktail a banging good treat?
