Review:

Rum-laced, very fruity, and toned by vermouth and generous dashed of bitters. If you like a French Martini you'll also like this.

I don't know why I imagined this would be a sour-ish cocktail. Obviously it isn't, neither the blackberries or the pineapple juice is anywhere near tart enough to make this anything but a sweet cocktail, and you have to lean in to it to appreciate it. Overall it's a very fruity cocktail — the berries, the juice, vermouth and the liqueur are all fruity and juicy so why wouldn't it? Including a rum with funk absolutely helps the Peychauds to bring out the fruit to a maximum.

Overall it's a very nice cocktail that could be further improved by just adding 1-1.5cl lime juice.

The Peychaud’s really brings out the flavours here. Recommended (particularly if you forage your blackberries)
