Review:

Dry and spirit-forward, as an old-fashioned should be, with hints of liquorice. It's dry, even with the 2.5ml of sugar I've added to Jason's original recipe, and some will want to increase the sugar syrup to 5ml. If you have it, then also try honey syrup rather than sugar syrup as this adds a little something extra.

Very nice "Old Fashioned" variant. I used Avallen Calvados & Remy Martin VSOP. Those two blended well together, with a little herbal bitterness from the Jagermeister, and just a touch of sweetness to take the edge off.

Had again made according to the recipe. Delightful as before. Perfect evening sipper.

Perfect evening sipper. Nice and spirit forward. Must confess, I did use 2 parts calvados to 1 part applejack bottled-in-bond, giving a little extra kick. Would definitely have again.

Didn't have any dark sugar in the house so I used agave syrup to sweeten. A lovely rich, evening sipper.
