Ingredients:
2 oz Light white rum (charcoal-filtered 1-4 years old)
12 oz Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
14 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
12 oz Pink grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed)
16 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with maraschino cherry.

The shaken version of the Daiquiri No.1 refined and made famous Constantino Ribalaigua Vert at El Florida bar (later renamed El Floridita) in Havana, Cuba.

Much more interesting than the ingredients would suggest- classic Difford balance in play.

Used Plantation 3 yr Rum. Starts sweet but quickly fades to a citrus sourness. Surprisingly, the Luxardo comes through quite prominently at the end

Great cocktail. Used a white over-proof rum and it was fabulous.
