Serve in a Coupe glass
2 oz | Light gold rum (1-3 year old molasses column) |
1⁄6 oz | Luxardo Maraschino liqueur |
1⁄2 oz | Lime juice (freshly squeezed) |
1⁄4 oz | Pink grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed) |
1⁄2 oz | Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup) |
Garnish: Luxardo Maraschino Cherry
BLEND all ingredients with 6oz scoop of crushed ice. Pour into glass and serve.
Great on a hot day, but the coldness masks much of the flavour evident when this drink is served 'up' or natural.
Emilio Gonzalez is said to have adapted the Natural Daiquiri into this frozen version at the Plaza Hotel in Cuba. However, Constantino "Constante" Ribalaïgua Vert of Havana's famous El Floridita made the drink famous.
