One serving of Casablanca contains 197 calories
Eponymously named after Michael Curtiz's 1942 romantic drama movie starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid. Filmed and set during World War II, the plot centres around an American expatriate (Bogart) whose love for a women (Bergman) distracts him from helping a Czechoslovak resistance leader (Henreid) escape from the Vichy-controlled city of Casablanca. The women, is the resistance leader's wife and if that were not enough, the script famously delivers lines such as "Play it, Sam," "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine" and "Here's looking at you kid."
CASA BLANCA
Stanley M. Jones, Jones' Complete Barguide, 1977
Cocktail glass
Stir
2 oz rum
½ oz lime juice
¼ oz orange curaçao
¼ oz maraschino liqueur
1 dash Angostura bitters
CASA BLANCA
John J. Poister, The New American Bartender's Guide. 1999
2 oz gold Jamaica rum
¼ tsp. curaçao
¼ tsp. maraschino liqueur
1 tsp. lime juice
Dash Angostura bitters
Mix all ingredients with cracked ice in a shaker or blender and strain into chilled cocktail glass.
Go easy on the aromatic bitters (use drops rather than dashes) or your Casablanca will be more orange than "blanca". Original recipes in The New American Bartender's Guide and Jones' Complete Barguide omit egg white, but this variation on the White Lady tastes and looks better with an appropriately white fluffy head.

I drink Aviations when I watch Casablanca...they leave in a plane...or Red Stripe Champagne like they did in the movie. Just saying.
Simon, Casablanca also gave us ‘round up the usual suspects’.
I compared the two following the recipe here (though omitting the sugar syrup) and preferred the red one having a more full filling taste. I do find the White Lady much more interesting than the clear Casablanca. Maybe I would like the clear Casablanca better, if swapping Bacardi Carta Blanca with Plantation 3 stars, but that be cheating or?
