Ingredients:
56 oz Calvados / apple brandy / straight applejack
12 oz Cachaça
12 oz Bénédictine D.O.M. liqueur
12 oz Ferro China Baliva
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Nice added complexity on the Ironbound! Being more widely available, i substituted Ferro China Baliva for Cynar. Lovely quinine bitterness, artichoke has heaps of iron too and, after all, cachaça and Cynar duo bombs big time (Rabo de Galo).

Very pleasing cocktail. It works well for people averse to "too herbal". Served with large cube of water and Angostura ice.
