Serve in a Coupe glass
1 oz | Rémy Martin V.S.O.P. cognac |
1 oz | Irish whiskey |
1⁄2 oz | Grand Marnier or other cognac orange liqueur |
1⁄2 oz | Bénédictine D.O.M. liqueur |
1⁄3 oz | Chilled water omit if using wet ice |
Garnish: Orange zest twist & freshly grated nutmeg
STIR all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass. (Consider adding a chunk of ice to the glass.)

I guess from a French speaker’s perspective it’s just that it looks like the grammatical equivalent of “does you speak”, added to the fact that “parle” is pronounced “parl”, whereas “parlez” is pronounced “parlay”, but it’s not like the French don’t mispronounce English or make grammatical mistakes as well... ;)
