Prepare

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of grated nutmeg.

Method

  1. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Adapted from a recipe promoted by Koko Kanu in 2017 consisting of just equal parts liqueur and pineapple juice.

Review

A ridiculously simple, three-equal-parts party cocktail, shaken to produce a pineapple and coconut cocktail fortified with rum and crowned with a foamy head. Off-dry and fruity rather than sweet.

I added a couple of dashes of chocolate bitters. Which may make it a 'Koko Choco Colada'.

I really liked this drink. First it is simple to make and very flavourful. Went perfectly with a Mexican dinner. We used a Coconut rum instead of a coconut rum liqueur. Kept the sweetness down a bit.
