Excellent drink. I love the simplicity and the moderate level of alcohol makes it possible to sip through two or three of these on a warm afternoon without falling over.

Nice drink. I only had straight cranberry juice available so I added 5ml of simple syrup which seemed to work okay but a little more sweetening wouldn’t hurt either.
Made this in the past and really enjoyed it. This evening, I only had a 2/3 shot of Tennessee whiskey available and after thrashing around looking for something appropriate to make up the shortfall, I pulled out a bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask and thought: “Why not?”
It’s not bad. I might experiment more. (I too cannot discard perfectly good Absinthe.)
A nice summer cocktail. I am wary of simple syrup and halved the amount. Worked well for me.
I made this using Amaro Montenegro because I had no Averno on hand. Not good, a bit sharp really. But I suspect the real problem was the grappa. Is there a question mark over Grappa di Moscato acquired from the bargains section of a Napoli supermarket?????
I didn't have any ginger syrup so I used ginger liqueur. It didn't seem to hurt. Nice drink.
I love this drink. Critical to enjoying it though, is that whiff of mint while sipping. It's a drink that is not worth making without the garnish.
Really enjoyed this but really you ain’t going to ruin a malt with this! I was curious but won’t revisit although it was not unpleasant x
Agree. Its an okay cocktail but there are better things to do with 1 1/2 shots of Laphroaig.
I really wanted to enjoy this because the flavors are all ones I like. Something is holding it back from being a 5/5 and I'm not sure what it is.
Agree - I get the same feeling. It misses something needed to resolve it. Though, as the ice melts, I am less certain. What changed - me or the drink?
Made this cocktail this evening and wondered why I had previously rated it a five star. Found it sweet and intense. Then when reading comments realised the recipe has changed.
I will try it again in future with the 1/4oz elderflower. I think I might then remember why I liked it so much the first time.
Have tried this now with 1/6 and 1/4 Falernum. It's better with less. Gets a little muddled (for mine) with the extra Falernum - loses the Margarita citrus sour effect and becomes a pretty ordinary cocktail.
Blanco tequila, Chartreuse Green, Sugar syrup (2:1), Lime juice, Bénédictine D.O.M.
