Satsuma Sakini
Sake, Bianco/blanco vermouth, Orange vodka, Orange bitters
Sake, Bianco/blanco vermouth, Orange vodka, Orange bitters
I think the Orange bitters are essential. (Caveat: I did make this with the dregs of our Four Pillars Xmas gin, so maybe the citrus worked with the Christmas pudding notes therein?)
Got very excited about this as have my first ever bottle of Mezcal. A little too sweet for me overall.
Blanc quinquina/kina, Orange juice, Scotch whisky, Triple sec, Dry vermouth
Surprisingly sublte. The ingredients work very nicely together.
Agreed. Never gone in for any riffs on the White Negroni as Suze just dominates. But this really works.
Dry vermouth, Lowland malt whisky, Black pepper, Amaro (e.g. Averna), Elderflower liqueur
Thanks Petros - found it here

Now just need to make some pink peppercorn syrup
Very much enjoyed this. Have had a bottle of Parfait Amour gathering dust for a couple of years, which I bought before I knew I could source Creme de Violette here in Singapore. Having randomly read the Difford's review of the former (I was on a Bols trawl, I struck upon this cocktail. Surprising to see how few cocktails there are on the site with Parfait Amour, really. Maybe it's due a renaissance?
Had a version of this at the Jigger and Pony in Singapore. Absolutely wondrous. I think they make it with Perrier grapefruit and some Nikka Coffey Gin too. Am trying to recreate it as can't find any shred of a recipe online.
Aromatized wine, Bénédictine D.O.M., 100% pot still rum, Aromatic bitters
Nice enough, goes down easy. Not going to change your life but a nice little late afternoon aperitif.
Dry vermouth, Rosso/sweet vermouth, Orange Curaçao, Orange juice, (+ 2 more)
I was just checking the recipe as have acquired a wonderful lurid bottle of Midori. Lo and behold I was making a Melon Margarita all these years, thinking it was a Japanese Slipper. Not sure I like the look of the original - too sweet.
This looks great - I love the onus this website has towards 'perfect drinks', really brings balance. We are trying to tour the NYC boroughs during lockdown, but, alas, no Picon Amer here in Singapore. Also, we ran out of Bulleit Rye last week so have had to improvise a wee bit.
I love this cocktail - on a tour of all the New York boroughs at the moment, via this website. I also go for Tanqueray as my gin of choice.
