How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Nick & Nora glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

If you like Aviations then this caraway-influenced sour may appeal. It's powerfully flavoured, so also consider serving over ice to allow dilution to tame the flavours.

After experimenting I liked this drink much better after swapping the proportions of the lemon juice and kummel, plus added 1/3 oz simple syrup. May depend on your brands of gin and kummel; I was using Tanqueray Gin and Doppelt Kummel Extra, and found the kummel overpowering before my modifications.

Agree. I found the kümmel to be overly dominant otherwise. Was using homemade kümmel and beefeater. Quite nice with the modifications.
