Ingredients:
34 oz Hayman's London Dry Gin
34 oz Strucchi Bianco Vermouth
34 oz Vermouth amaro - medium (e.g. Cocchi Vermouth Amaro)
12 oz Cynar or other carciofo amaro
4 drop Bob's Grapefruit Bitters
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of grapefruit zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. EXPRESS grapefruit zest twist over cocktail and use as garnish.

Well obviously I need to try this with the recommended brands, but Cocchi Americano, Punt e Mes, and (1 dash) Fee Bros West Indian did wonders. Instant favorite.

Took Calvin's advice and added a few drops of grapefruit bitters. Perfect aperitif. Slightly sweet and bitter. Herbal hints. Wow.

Made again, this time with Cocchi Dopo Teatro and Cynar 70, and a few drops grapefruit bitters. 5+

OK. This goes to the top of my "Best Cardamaro Cocktails" list. Ditto for Cynar but with the qualifier "among" (there's so many good ones). If you like negronis do try.
