Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
1 dried Star anise
1 oz Strucchi Red Bitter (Campari-style liqueur)
1 12 oz Patrón Silver blanco tequila
1 oz Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth
× 1 1 serving

Garnish: Float star anise

How to make:

MUDDLE (smash) a star anise in base of stirring glass. Add other ingredients, STIR with ice and extra fine strain into chilled glass. OR Omit the muddled star anise and instead pre-prepare Star anise-infused Italian red bitter liqueur by infusing 18-20 star anise pods into a 70-75cl bottle. Seal and shake periodically over 8 hours, then strain through a dampened coffee filter or cheesecloth.

I found this just OK. Felt that it was a lot sweeter than what I would expect a 7 cocktail. I would think at highest a 6. The blanco tequila gets lost; perhaps it would be better with an reposado or anejo tequila.
