Pretty well balanced, though I think I was a little heavy have with the bitters. Improved as it went down the glass, so to speak. Elijah Craig and all else per spec. Tasty tho not in love at this point.

Ramazzotti cannot be bought for love or money where we are. So we went with Amaro Nardini. It was lovely but perhaps there are better substitutes?

I’d prob go Averna, or maybe Lucano. Or a blend of the two.

An agreeable combination of flavors with a fresh orangy lead. Hints of mint from the Strega and a lot of subtle complexity complement well my otherwise budgety bourbon.

Made it with Rough Rider bourbon, and to prevent the Ramazzotti from getting lost as Frederic D. observed I increased it to 1 oz. Strega is pretty potent stuff and I can’t say it was “lost” amongst the other ingredients. I would claim better balance instead. Very tasty variation on the Rebennack #1.

Made this with Elijah Craig. I might need to either switch to a less assertive bourbon, or dial it back to 1.5 Oz. as in the #1, because the Strega and Ramazzotti were getting lost. Still a tasty drink, but in need of some tinkering to match my palate.
