Adapted from a recipe thought to have been created by Julian Anderson, who, from 1893 to 1953, was the bartender at The Montana Club, a private club in Helena, Montana, USA. As this is the club's signature cocktail, over his 60-year tenure, he certainly mixed thousands of Montana Club Martinis and included the recipe in his self-published 1919 book Julian's Recipes.
