Review:

A riff on a Brooklyn made with bianco vermouth and a splash of rum. (The Caribbean lies to the south of Brooklyn.) Muscular rye whiskey dominates, with subtle notes from the rum and maraschino, over herbal complexity from the other ingredients.

A nice drink. I used Bigallet China China in lieu of the Amer Picon and it worked fine. I upped the rum to 15ml which balanced the Rye. The Maraschino has a slight presence and the Peychaud’s is a perfect fit.

Good but felt like it wasn't as well balanced as I'd hoped.

Everyone muddles along nicely but the rum stands out despite the relatively small contribution, so choose carefully.

Unbelievably - or maybe not, if you know me - I have all the ingredients for this one, including the elusive Amer Picon, and mixed it up without hesitation. Inspirational drink. The rye and rum, for the first time in my experience, seem to be the best of friends. Bravo!
