Despite liking every ingredient in this, I found this was not the cocktail for me. Tasted very much like drinking amaro straight up. The cranberry was an odd flavor addition that reminded me of eating a piece of fruit leather sprinkled with cinnamon. I might revisit and try to adjust to my palate later.

It’s ok. Another review calls it a little flat and I agree. It’s not bad but it’s also “not all there”.

Just riffed on this, amped up to 60 ml bourbon and ratio kept same for rest, doubled the lemon juice ratio and added 15ml aqua faba to sour-ify. Worked a treat 👌

Accidentally switched the rum and bourbon proportions but it still worked really well.

Made this as happened to have all the doings, including the pink pigeon (which if you haven’t had it is delicious) and was not disappointed. Well balanced, little bit zesty. Definitely a new fave.

So. It's January in the North East and the central heating has failed and the wife says "Is there anything suitable for a winter's night in this book?" And yes this really hits the spot.
