Review:

A stirred four-to-one Martini is indeed a delicious thing. But is a five-to-one Martini even more delicious? Try both, and perhaps also a three-to-one. What a wonderful way to lose an evening.

When I started my cocktail journey I preferred a classic 2:1 martini with a dash of orange bitters. Over time, however, my taste seems to have evolved to a preference of 4:1, which for me has become the perfect ratio. Tanqueray Ten, Dolin Dry, Regan's Orange bitters garnished with an olive and a lemon peel expressed over the top, stirred for 30 seconds and served ice cold and you have yourself an experience that borders on the sublime. Nice to see I'm not the only 4:1 fan out there.

I swapped out the orange bitters for lemon as I lacked any lemon peel to garnish with, and I honestly think that tweak has made this is my preferred martini in dry/wet ratio. It went down so fast and easy the olive was still crisp!

This is a delightful and perfectly balanced. Not as dry as many other recipes, but wonderfully spirit forward. Would definitely do this one again.
