Review:

Some Scotch whiskies benefit from the influence of maturation in sherry wine-infused casks. However, this cocktail amplifies the fortified wine influence way beyond what's possible from merely the aging process.

Lots of play with sherry cocktails this evening, and this was definitely a favourite, bearing in mind I'm a huge scotch fan. Reminiscent of an Affinity, but with the wonderful nutty and woody notes of the sherry lingering, blending perfectly harmoniously with the scotch. I found the 15ml dilution slightly excessive, prob 10nl enough for me, a minor quibble for course.

Tried this with many reservations as not a fan of Sherry or Vermouth as a major flavour to a cocktail. What a perfectly balanced drink. Does benefit with a short rest for the cocktail to breathe. If you are a fan of Sherry or Vermouth this is perfect for you.

I served it in a cocktail glass (similar to Rob Roy) and it was great with Famuse Grouse.

Wasn't sure about the sherry, as I only had fino, but this worked out fine. Very easy to drink.

I was tempted to mess with the ratio of scotch to the other ingredients, but this is a very balanced drink. Not as boozy as one would think.
