1 fl oz Strucchi Rosso Vermouth
1/2 fl oz Chilli liqueur
2 dash Difford's Bokers Bitters By Bob's Bitters

Serve in a Coupe glass

Prepare

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherries.

Method

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. Garnish with skewered cherries.

I like the balance here. It doesn’t taste “spicy” per se. Just a long lingering heat in the mouth. A bit moreish because the finish makes you want to have another sip of the cold manhattan, only for the process to repeat. Finished mine way too fast as a result. Overall a fine way to mix up your manhattans for variety without compromising on its essence in any way. Makes it a bit more “manly” as well for those guests that let that prevent them from enjoying a classic manhattan.

Oh yes, great idea, let's rename it the 'Manly Manhattan'. Where does all of this obsessive and neurotic fussing about gender come from? I do despair sometimes.

btw...a very nice tweak on the original Manhattan, although we thought that 10ml chilli liqueur was about right.
