I've been looking forward to make this for about two years. I finally tracked down a bottle of the Golden Moon equivalent of Amer Picon, not being able to source the authentic ingredient in my country. I'm kicking myself for not seeing the recommendation to use China-China, as I've had a bottle of that for some time. Yet they taste fairly different, so now I get to make both...

I get the comparison to a Manhattan, but it's almost a disservice. Far superior. Top 10 Difford's maybe.

You're hardly going to get complaints if you serve someone a Pina Colada, but this recipe strikes the perfect balance. Not cloying, not overwhelmed by coconut or pineapple, not too assertive with spices or lime. My friends and family reacted with "always make us this recipe. Don't change it."

With that said, this recipe also acts as a perfect platform for experimentation. Add a glance of Banane de Bresil. Add a bit of orgeat. Add some of AElred's Melon Apertif.

I would never think that mixing these ingredients would work, but this is an excellent drink. The best use I've found so far for Banane du Bresil and a favorite cocktail.

Very interesting. If someone handed me this drink I don't think I could figure out what was in it other than tonic. The tequila and Creme de Peche meld together to create something new, although you can find the peach if you look for it. This will definitely be a goto during the summer.

You get the taste of the fruit juice right away, which then transitions to the honey, and after you swallow the allspice hits you. An interesting example of a drink that changes flavor over time. I've played around by replacing the honey with orgeat and it's great.

This is an amazing drink (top 5 for me), although I must admit I've never had the true thing. I haven't been able to find any Kina (supply chain issues for my local liquor stores in early 2023), so I instead used a bottle of Pineau des Charentes. I'm not sure how off that is in terms of flavor, but I assure you the resulting cocktail is excellent.

I could sniff a bottle of this all day - there's just something about the smell that I find enchanting. It's sweet, but not cloying and I enjoy nursing an ounce or so.
Make an Old Fashion with this simply by using a half ounce in place of the syrup. I personally love it, but my wife and a friend said the walnut was a bit over powering

Possibly the happiest I've been with a margarita that I've made myself. The perfect balance of sweet and sour. I triple checked the recipe and the comments to see if it was really supposed to be lime instead of the lemon, but the lemon does it right in spite of my expectations.

This is the cocktail that has brought me the most compliments. It reminds me a bit of tea with honey, which I attribute to the Benedictine combined with the lemon twist. As someone else mentions in the comments, this is a drink where the twist plays an essential role.

This is an excellent drink, with the Luxardo Maraschino really adding a unique touch that ties it all together. You also have that flavor of Benedictine complimenting the Fernet. This is one of the top 10 cocktails that I've made from this site so far. A few other favorites to show where my tastes lean:
- The Italian Job
- Bastille
- Barney Barnato
- Gen'tonique
- Vieux Carre

I most always have a bottle of "regular" Cointreau on hand for margaritas, but it's never been something I'd drink on its own (there are other orange liqueurs that are better suited). Cointreau Noir took me by surprise - I could sip on this all day. It has a deep rich flavor, and while sweet, it isn't cloying. I haven't mixed anything with it yet, mostly because I could just build a drink with Remy and Cointreau instead of squandering the Noir.

I was surprised by the flavor of this. I had expected some variation of standard maraschino cherry that you get from the jars at a grocery store. I don't detect that flavor at all - instead it's lychee that jumps out at me, and perhaps a bit of almond. It's also quite a bit stronger than I would have anticipated.

This isn't something that I'd drink on its own, but I bought it with the intention to use it as a mixer. It adds a noticeable flourish to drinks like Archibald's Last Memory.
