I dont know what a "pea" of green food color is - so I used a single drop of green food color liquid (not gel) and it resulted in the familiar pale milky green color. The creme de menthe leads, but the Branca Menta, creme de cacao and absinthe are all there, in the background, but discernable. I was disappointed with the absence of mezcal impact - I think I should have used a mezcal with more smoky flavor. More involved that a typical grasshopper, but a definite improvement, IMO.

Why not use a green peppermint liqueur? I thought they were interchangeable.
